Four dogs killed in Lincoln house fire, LFR says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Four dogs died in an early Saturday morning house fire, Lincoln Fire & Rescue says.
LFR spokeswoman Nancy Crist said the fire started around 6 a.m. at a house near 27th and J Streets.
When crews arrived, they saw heavy fire coming from the home’s first floor.
An excess of items in the home made it challenging for firefighters to battle the flames, according to Crist.
Two people were rescued from the home and taken to a local hospital.
Multiple animals were rescued from the home, but Crist said four dogs were killed in the fire.
Crist said the house had around $150,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
