Severe potential Wednesday night, then cooling off
Showers and thunderstorms are going to be likely late Wednesday and may linger into early Thursday. Storms that do form have the potential to be severe.
After these storms, we have a small rain chance early Friday, then dry for several days. Temperatures are going to cool off, too.
First, the good news. Some much needed rain is possible Wednesday into Thursday!
Above is what StormCast has for the timing of the storm potential Wednesday night.
While quite a bit of rain is possible, the chance for strong to severe storms comes with the rain chance.
The tornado threat is very low in SE Nebraska, but you don’t have to go far to see an increased chance is NE Kansas.
Large hail looks to be the main threat for SE and south central Nebraska.
Damaging wind will also be a possibility through Wednesday night into early Thursday.
The threat for snow that was showing up in the panhandle has dropped further south and now looks to impact only Colorado.
After one more mild day on Wednesday, we cool off quite a bit Thursday and Friday. It’ll be even cooler St. Patrick’s Day!
