Severe weather potential for Florida Saturday
There is a vigorous low pressure system that will be making its way out of the Gulf of Mexico and taking aim on Florida. If you or anybody you know is in Tampa Bay for the Huskers Volleyball match, it will be worth keeping an eye on!
Storms will start to move across Florida as early as Saturday morning, with the stronger parts of the storm happening in the late morning, afternoon, and into the evening.
Tampa Bay is on the northern fringe of a Slight Risk for severe weather, with a Marginal Risk further north.
An isolated tornado will be possible with this wave of storms. They will mostly be quick spin up tornadoes that do isolated damage.
Sustained winds will be in the 20 to 30 mph range with wind gusts will be in the 40-50 mph range. However, with thunderstorms that become severe, wind gusts in excess of 60 mph will be possible.
