Severe weather potential for Tuesday and Wednesday
The changing of the season is usually preceded by storms pushing through, ushering in colder air. That is looking like a possibility for Tuesday night into Wednesday. Storms are possible Tuesday evening into very early Wednesday, therefor a level 1 “Marginal Risk” is in place.
Weather models are showing a line of storms forming in central Nebraska late Tuesday and lingering into early Wednesday. Damaging wind and some hail would be possible if storms can get going.
Before the storms move into late Tuesday, it’s going to be a very windy and warm day.
The record high for Lincoln on Tuesday is 87 set back in 1937. We’ll be close!
After the storm chance late Tuesday into early Wednesday, the cold front continues it’s way east giving us more severe storm chances for the first part of Wednesday. Because of this, a level 1 and 2 “Marginal Risk” to “Slight Risk” is in place.
Models have a good chance at heavy rain, damaging wind, and some hail moving through Wednesday morning. See below for that:
After it’s all said and done, rain totals nearing an inch will be possible for parts of eastern Nebraska.
After the storm chances late Tuesday into Wednesday, we quiet down and have a cooler and quieter Thursday to look forward to.
