Severe weather potential Monday

There is a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH in place for much of Nebraska through 10:00pm Monday, July 10, 2023.

Large hail, damaging wind, and an isolated tornado will be possible through the evening. Above is a video of a recent model showing the potential and timing for storms. Exact location of the storms may vary somewhat, so be prepared if you live anywhere in or near the watch area.

The area that will have the highest chance for hail is in the yellow shaded area (above graphic). The areas with the black dashed lines may see hail in excess of 2″.

The area most likely to see damaging wind is in the yellow and red shaded areas (above graphic), with the red shaded area having the highest chance. This area also has the black dashed lines which means wind in excess of 75 mph will be possible.
