LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Seward business, Petsource by Scoular, announced a $75 million expansion that will triple production and create 80 new jobs.

Petsource announced the expansion on Tuesday, they plan to complete the project by 2023.

According to a press release, the pandemic increased pet ownership to 70 percent of U.S. households, which grew the demand for freeze-dried pet food.

“I’m thrilled that Petsource and the community of Seward can be part of the solution for our pet food customers seeking to meet the growing demand for freeze-dried pet food,” said Petsource President Amy Patterson.

Scoulor plans to continue to invest in pet food manufacturers to support the marketplace’s growth.
