SEWARD, Neb. (KLKN) – Deputies from the Seward County HSI CITF-W Task Force seized 45 pounds of methamphetamine from a car hauler tractor-trailer on I-80.

Deputies stopped the car hauler eastbound on I-80 at mile marker 379 on Dec. 17 around 10:15 p.m. The car hauler held eight vehicles on the trailer. Deputies became suspicious of a 2021 Infiniti SUV and unloaded the vehicle for further inspection.

After being unloaded, deputies discovered the vehicle had been stolen in California. Deputies also found five pounds of methamphetamine in a speaker compartment and 40 pounds in the spare tire.

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office estimates the street value of the methamphetamine at $315,000. SCSO says they will be doing a follow-up investigation in cooperation with federal agencies.
