Gunshots reportedly fired near a Lincoln elementary school, officers say it’s ‘alarming’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Sunday morning, shots were fired at a Lincoln elementary school.

Officers with the Lincoln Police Department received an anonymous tip concerning gunshots near Adam’s Elementary School, 7401 Jacobs Creek Dr., on Tuesday- two days after the actual incident.

According to the report, a vehicle had pulled up and shot several rounds at the unoccupied playground.

LPD found several spent shell casings in the parking lot near the playground, but did not find any damage.

At this time, it is unlikely that the school or anyone associated with the school was targeted. Thankfully, the incident happened outside of school hours, but officers say it’s still alarming.
