Snow is done, for now
The next several days are going to be quiet and a little cool, but we slowly warm up as we head through the weekend.
The next chance for snow will come our way by the middle of next week. The forecast is in the video above.
Snowfall totals were significant, but it was a relatively thin line of heavy snow.
From Lincoln to around Alba (south-central Nebraska) there was a swath of 4 to 8 inches of snow, with pockets of 9 to 11 inches in the purple-shaded areas.
We saw many reports around Lincoln of 10, 10.5 and 11 inches of snow! Several 9-inch reports, as well.
The official snowfall total for the city of Lincoln goes down as 8.8″ for the day.
Many other towns saw well over 6.0″ of snow.
Tonight, temperatures will drop into the single digits, which is well below average.
The wind chill will drop to around zero, so a cold start to the day!
For Friday, we start off cold, but do warm up some.
We’ll see highs in the middle 30s by the afternoon with lots of sunshine.
It’ll be a little cooler than average where there is a fresh pack of snow on the ground, but some areas that didn’t see snow will get into the lower 40s.
