Snow lingers; bitterly cold air moves in
EXTREME COLD WARNINGS and COLD WEATHER ADVISORIES are in place for Monday night into Tuesday in the counties highlighted below. These are just the counties to see the warnings and advisories first. The rest of the state goes into an EXTREME COLD WARNING at midnight.
The COLD WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for the southeastern corner through noon Tuesday.
At midnight, the EXTREME COLD WARNING goes into place for the rest of the state and goes through Thursday. The EXTREME COLD WATCH is in place for eastern Nebraska Tuesday afternoon through Thursday.
Overall, it’s going to be cold so if the above is a little confusing, just assume that temperatures will be 10 to 15 below overnight with wind chills pushing 30 below.
We won’t warm up much on Tuesday with light snow possible on and off throughout the day.
After we get past Thursday and Friday, things look a LOT better!
