Snowplow driver pleads not guilty in Nebraska trooper’s death
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man charged in the death of a Nebraska state trooper made his first court appearance Tuesday.
A 56-year-old Palmyra man pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.
On Feb. 17, Trooper Kyle McAcy was responding to a crash on Interstate 80 between Ashland and Greenwood.
The crash involved a snowplow and two other vehicles, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
McAcy asked the plow driver to move the snowplow, the patrol said.
Authorities said the driver backed up as McAcy walked away, striking him.
The criminal complaint accuses the snowplow driver of careless driving, saying it caused McAcy’s death.
The driver’s next court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21.
