Solid soaking, but we need more rain
After a decent amount of rainfall Wednesday into Thursday, the chance for more rain thins out a bit. It’s going to be chilly, too.
Rainfall totals (above) were around an inch for much of eastern Nebraska. The western half of the state, however, missed out on the heavier rain.
The next chance for rain comes our way Friday afternoon when a line of storms will try to form in far eastern Nebraska. The storms will quickly move east.
When that line of storms does form, it’ll move east quickly and the threat for severe weather increases just as fast. Iowa and Missouri has a level 3 “Enhanced Risk” for severe storms Friday evening.
The Drought Monitor (above) shows most of the state in a Severe and Extreme Drought. Rainfall from Wednesday into Thursday happened after this was released, so we’ll know next week if the rainfall helped out any.
We’re in for a cool couple of days, too. Highs on Friday will be in the 30s and 40s for eastern Nebraska.
We warm into the 50s and 60s for Saturday.
We warm up for Easter Day, then cool back down early next week with more rain/mix chances.
