South-central Nebraska man sent to prison for child porn possession

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska man will spend more than a decade behind bars for possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.

Cory D. Sikes, 41, of Holdrege was sentenced in federal court on Wednesday to 11½ years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. There is no parole in the federal system.

In October 2021, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a tip that eight images and one video of child porn had been uploaded to a social media platform.

Based on that tip, law enforcement obtained a search warrant for Sikes’ home and seized his electronic devices.

His cellphone had 120 images of child porn and 483 images that the U.S. Attorney’s Office called “questionable.”

On his laptop, law enforcement found 350 child porn images and 500 “questionable” images, authorities said.

U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard also sentenced Sikes serve 10 years of supervised release after he’s out of prison.

Sikes also must pay $3,000 to funds established for victims of such crimes.
