Storm chance Friday night
On and off storms are possible for the next several days, but much quieter conditions is possible by next week. Temperatures will be close to normal for the next several days.
A quiet and mild day to end the week. We may see a spot shower, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy and mild today.
The chance for storms increases as the Friday night progresses. There’s a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for much of the state which means one or two strong storms will be possible. A level 2 “Slight Risk” is in SW Nebraska where a few strong to severe storms will be possible.
Above is what our StormCast weather model is showing for the storm chance tonight. A long line of storms will roll from west to east Friday night into very early Saturday.
The chance for a tornado is small, but the better chance is in SW Nebraska as the storms roll through.
Large hail will be possible across the state tonight.
Damaging wind will also be possible tonight.
If we can dodge the severe weather threat tonight, we may see some more much needed precipitation!
