Storm chances and plenty warm
Scattered showers and storms are going to be possible through Saturday morning, then we’ll see another chance for storms Saturday night. Then we’ll dry out on Sunday and warm up. In fact, the first half of next week is going to be REALLY warm with high temperatures getting very close to record highs. The next chance for precipitation will come our way Wednesday when a cold front rolls through and cools us off just n time for the beginning of fall.
For tonight, the main area of concern for severe storms is in north central and northwest Nebraska. Storms will roll through this area with hail and damaging wind possible. By the time this activity makes it into eastern Nebraska, by Saturday morning, the threat for severe storms will be gone.
For the Husker game Saturday, we will have a chance for storms to linger into the first part of the game before the clouds clear and we warm up quickly. Temperatures will be in the middle 70s by the first quarter, middle 80s by halftime, and near 90 by the end of the game. It’s going to be really warm in the stadium!
For the weekend, we have the storm chance early Saturday, then again late Saturday night. Sunday is looking dry with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the lower and middle 90s. That heat continues into next week!
