Storm chances Sunday and Monday

We have quite a few chances for storms the next several days, some of which may be severe. High temperatures are expected to be at or above average (mid 70s) each day.

We are going to see several waves of storms Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, some of which may produce some heavy rain. Above is what our StormCast model has for rainfall potential through Sunday night.

There is a chance for severe storms on Sunday, mainly in the evening. Storms will also be possible in the morning, but those have a small chance at being severe. See below for timing of the storms.

As the video above shows, it won’t storm all day, but the storms that do come through in the evening may be strong to severe.

Large hail will be possible with the storms Sunday evening.

Damaging wind will also be possible for much of the state.

The tornado threat is very small for much of the state, but it’s a little higher in extreme SE Nebraska. The better chance will be into Kansas Sunday evening.

The for Monday (above), we will have another chance for severe storms. This one may be a little higher chance for much of eastern Nebraska.

Above is what our StormCast weather model has for the timing of the storms on Monday. Storms that do form will have the potential for large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes. However, what happens on Sunday will play a big part on how strong the storms will be on Monday, so stay up to date with the latest forecasts!
