Storm potential Saturday, September 23, 2023
Strong to severe storms are ongoing Saturday morning and will last into the early afternoon in NE and eastern Nebraska. After that initial cluster moves through, a cold front will push through from Sioux City south towards Omaha, Lincoln, and Beatrice. Storms will try to form around that line, but the better chance for severe weather will be into Iowa.
However, as the initial cold front and severe storms push into Iowa, eastern Nebraska may still see some spotty storms on the western side of the cold front in the afternoon. Lightning, small hail, and quick downpours would be possible.
Below is what a recent weather model show may happen through Saturday afternoon and into the evening.
