Storms possible into the weekend

On and off showers and thunderstorms are possible across much of the state through the weekend. Severe weather is a possibility with the best chance in the western half of the state Thursday evening. Temperatures will be cooler than average all the way through next week.

Much of the day in central and eastern Nebraska will be dry and muggy. Temperatures will be a little below average.

That muggy feel will last into the weekend before starting to improve Sunday into next week.

Storms start to move through the western half of the state Thursday evening. They will weaken as the get into central Nebraska and may give eastern Nebraska some light rain.

There is a good chance for severe storms Thursday evening, especially in SW Nebraska. McCook and surrounding areas have a Level 3 Enhanced Risk for storms. The area shaded in yellow is a Level 2 Slight Risk, and the green shaded area is Level 1 Marginal Risk.
