Storms possible through weekend
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place until 4:00am Wednesday morning.
Large hail and damaging wind will be possible with storms that move through.
Scattered showers and storms will be possible on and off for the next several days. Temperatures will stay below average for a while, too.
There is a going to be a lot of moisture in the air the next several days. The dewpoint will be well above the comfort level (60 degrees) for the next several days, thus fuel for storms to fire on and off.
There is a Marginal (green) Risk and a Slight (yellow) Risk for severe storms late tonight into early. Storms will start Tuesday night and push across the state overnight, moving into eastern Nebraska by early Wednesday morning.
Hail is a possibility with any storm that gets going. Hail around 1″ in diameter would be possible.
Damaging wind will also be possible, with the better chance at strong winds in SW Nebraska as the storms get going.
Heavy rain is possible, especially under the storms that do get going. A half of an inch to an inch would be possible in those areas.
After the storm chance tonight into Wednesday morning, there will be a small chance on Thursday and a little better chance again on Friday.
