Storms tonight, much cooler the rest of the week
Scattered showers and storms will be possible tonight into the overnight then we dry out and cool off through the weekend.
There is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for much of the southern half of Nebraska. A level 2 “Slight Risk” is in place for NE Kansas. This means that one or two storms may reach severe status this evening.
If severe storms do form, 1″ hail is a possibility.
Damaging wind in excess of 60 mph will be possible, as well.
Above is what StormCast has for the timing for the storms tonight.
Not a lot of us will see significant rainfall, but a swath of a half an inch to just over an inch is possible just north of I80. Higher amounts will also be possible under the strong thunderstorms.
And yes, there’s a chance for some accumulating snow!
Our average high is in the middle 60s this time of year, but we’ll be cooler than that for a few days.
