Strong storm knocks down tree, which narrowly misses Lincoln home
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Strong storms caused at least one tree and several branches to fall down in Lincoln early Tuesday morning.
A Channel 8 reporter spotted a tree that fell in the yard of a home near Ninth and Garfield streets.
The homeowner, Harold Richardson, said he was worried the tree might fall but didn’t even hear it come down.
“It has been deteriorating for a long time, and I was concerned about it falling in the yard or hurting someone in the street,” he said.
The tree narrowly missed the house.
Richardson said he thanks God that the damage was minimal.
There were also several reports of tree branches blocking roadways.
That includes a large branch that blocked Sumner Street near Ninth Street.
You can report any downed trees or branches to the City of Lincoln by using UPLNK.
