Strong storm potential Wednesday and Thursday in Nebraska
We’re going to have a one-two punch for storms Wednesday and Thursday. Storms that do form each day will have the chance to become severe.
It will be very mild each of those days, but after the cold front moves through on Thursday, it’s going to get MUCH colder around here.
Wednesday evening has a chance of storms popping up in the late afternoon and into the evening.
There is a level 1 Marginal risk in place for this potential.
The best chance for storms Wednesday will be after sunset into overnight.
Hail and damaging wind would be the main concerns.
Wave two will come our way Thursday afternoon and evening.
A strong cold front will move through, giving us a good chance of strong to severe weather.
All modes of severe weather will be possible.
Storms will form in the 5 to 10 p.m. time frame along that cold front. They will move from west to east very quickly.
As cold air pools in behind the cold front, rain will change to snow in the Panhandle.
The best chance for heavy rain will be in northern Nebraska and portions of eastern Nebraska.
