Stuck with cold temperatures today and tomorrow 1/19/2022

Nebraska is off to a much colder start this morning, with temperatures around 10-20 degrees colder in comparison to temperatures at 6AM yesterday! Temperatures are currently in the low teens with below zero and single digit wind chill values. These bitter cold wind chill values aren’t just due to cold temperatures though. Wind gusts are easily above 30 mph this morning, but they will calm down as we head into the afternoon. Parts of southeast Nebraska are even seeing some flurries this morning, but accumulation is NOT likely. These flurries will push out of the state within the next few hours. Highs will struggle to warm later today with most of the area falling short of the 20s. Wind chill values will easily feel like the single digits for most of the day, so carry warm layers with you. Clouds will also start to decrease this afternoon, with clear skies eventually overnight tonight. This will allow temperatures to drop below 0 degrees with wind chill values around -10 degrees. Highs continue to struggle into tomorrow, but the 30s return by Friday and Saturday with the 40s even on Sunday.
