Stuff the Truck: Nebraska state workers chip in to help Food Bank of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Food Bank of Lincoln gathered thousands of pounds of food Thursday morning at the state Capitol.
State employees from different departments have been collecting food and supplies over the last 10 days with one goal in mind: giving back to those in need.
This is the 40th year of the Stuff the Truck program.
Through food donations and financial contributions, last year’s State Campaign Against Hunger helped make more than 46,000 meals for people facing hunger in Southeast Nebraska.
“Nebraskans really pitch in together to help each other when people are in need,” event coordinator Carole Nelsen said.
The food bank serves over 60,000 people in southeast Nebraska, and it said the need continues to increase.
