Summer heat returns this weekend

Overnight we have another slight chance for a few thunderstorms to bubble up close to the Kansas border. These are not expected to be severe, but could produce small hail and heavy downpours as they last into early tomorrow morning. Southeast Nebraska will dry out by the afternoon and temperatures will quickly climb to the upper 80s. Breezy winds out of the southeast will help bring in moisture and cause humidity to soar by the evening. Temperatures will only get warmer as we head into the weekend with highs in the lower 90s and feels like temperatures close to the triple digits. Several more days of overnight thunderstorms are also likely with a few being severe.
