SWAT Team Arrests Man For Drug Possession

A big drug bust in Lincoln Thursday ended in an arrest and several pounds of drugs and narcotics confiscated.

Lincoln police issued 4 search warrants all in connection with a joint investigation with police and the narcotics task force.

The search warrants were carried out Thursday morning and police say it's always good to have a successful raid and to get another criminal off the streets.

“It was a joint effort by the Lincoln Police Department, Narcotics Task Force, SWAT and K-9 unit to help assist in service of 4 search warrants,” Officer Katie Flood said.

The first issued at 29 year old Kevin Walker's home near 30th and Pioneers.

The result: Walker behind bars and 30 pounds of marijuana, cocaine and almost 7,000 dollars in cash confiscated.

“Based on the amount that we found it was not for personal use it was definitely for distribution and sales,” Flood said.

The other 3 warrants were served at Walker's business and Snow Rush stores around the Lincoln area.

Police have yet to say what was discovered at those places.

Walker was arrested for felony possession of marijuana and intent to deliver.

“From what I understand this was a pretty intensive investigation and it's nice to have a warrant where it was a success they know what they were looking for and it was there,” Flood said.

Police say an arrest of this magnitude was the joint effort of several task forces, as well as an on-going narcotics investigation.
