LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The teen charged in a stabbing at a Waverly park last year will be tried as an adult.
Shane Moore, 15, stabbed another teen multiple times at Wayne Park on Oct. 13, authorities said.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said the 15-year-old victim had heart surgery after the stabbing.
On Thursday, Lancaster County District Judge Ryan Post denied a request to move the trial to juvenile court, according to court documents.
Moore has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of using a weapon to commit a felony.
Each charge comes with a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.
His next court appearance has been scheduled for Aug. 17.
