Teen convicted of 2023 murder at Lincoln house party

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Jurors found a Lincoln man guilty on Wednesday in a deadly shooting at a 2023 house party.

Kashuan McCree, 19, was convicted of first-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Late on the night of March 31, 2023, McCree was at a party near 27th and Fair streets.

Police said he shot another partygoer, 18-year-old Damien Brave, over a bag that he was holding.

When police arrived to investigate a report of gunshots, they saw several high school-age people fleeing the house.

Brave went to a Lincoln hospital, where he later died.
