LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teenager was sentenced Tuesday to decades in prison for a stabbing at a Waverly park in 2022.

Shane Moore, 17, was sentenced to 66 to 70 years in prison for attempted first-degree murder and a reduced weapon charge.

He entered a plea deal, in which prosecutors dropped a first-degree assault charge and another weapon charge.

On Oct. 13, 2022, Moore — then 14 —  stabbed another teen multiple times at Wayne Park.

The victim, who was 15, needed heart surgery, authorities said.

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said at the time that Moore committed the crime for notoriety.
