Temperatures and storm chances increasing
Storm chances will be on the increase starting Thursday with on and off storms possible all the way into next week. Temperatures will be on the rise, too.
Storms are possible on Thursday (better chance in SW Nebraska), then a better chance for storms in eastern Nebraska Friday, then more storm chances late Saturday.
Above is what StormCast has for the timing of the storms Thursday into Friday. The storms that form in SW Nebraska Thursday evening have have best chance for being severe.
The Storm Prediction Center has a Level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe storms in green and a Level 2 “Slight Risk” in yellow. Those in yellow have the better chance at seeing severe storms.
Large hail will be the main threat for SW and south central Nebraska.
An isolated tornado is also possible, with a better chance into western Kansas.
Damaging wind is also possible with storms that form.
Afternoon temperatures will be a little cooler than average, but only by a little.
If you’re headed to the Spring Game on Saturday, much of the day looks dry, but the chance for storms starts to increase as the afternoon wears on.
