Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford pleads not guilty to traffic violation following parade in Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Omaha boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford entered a plea for an alleged infraction from a traffic stop after his celebration parade in Omaha in September.
On Monday, he pleaded not guilty to a charge of careless driving.
Just before 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 28, officers saw a vehicle driving recklessly near North 12th Street and Capitol Avenue, according to the Omaha Police Department. Officers pulled the car over on Cass Street.

While speaking with the driver, an officer saw a firearm on the driver’s side floorboard.
OPD said all four occupants were ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint.
Crawford was later identified as the driver and was issued a citation for reckless driving.
One of the passengers, a member of Crawford’s security team, was also carrying a legal firearm.
Police said that all four occupants were legally permitted to carry firearms. A police supervisor and lieutenant responded to the scene at Crawford’s request.
The incident followed a parade for Crawford’s win against Canelo Alvarez.

Crawford is due in court on Dec. 31.
