Texas DL Riley Van Poppel commits to Huskers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Huskers earned a commitment from defensive lineman Riley Van Poppel on Monday.
After visiting the university last Friday, the lineman from Argyle, Texas, made the announcement in a post on Twitter.

Van Poppel is a four-star prospect for the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports composite ranking.
The lineman chose Nebraska over other Big Ten schools including Purdue, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Defensive coordinator Erik Chinander and assistant coach Mike Dawson helped recruit Van Poppel.

Recently, the Huskers has recently earned commitments from wide receiver Jaidyn Doss and offensive tackle Brock Knutson.
Van Poppel is the first 2023 DL to commit to the Huskers.
