LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – State officials are warning lakegoers after toxic algal blooms were found at Bluestem Lake in Lancaster County.

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy said Friday that the lake’s swimming beaches are closed during the alert.

Lakegoers can still boat and fish, but officials ask people to use caution and avoid exposure to the water.
