Toxic algal blooms found at Pawnee Lake in Lancaster County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – State officials are warning lakegoers after toxic algal blooms were found at Pawnee Lake in Lancaster County.
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy said the lake’s swimming beaches are closed during the alert.
Lakegoers can still boat and fish, but officials ask people to use caution and avoid exposure to the water.
Public areas for camping, picnics and other outdoor activities will also remain open.
