Two Lincoln streets to temporarily close for railroad track repair

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –  Beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, a part of 84th Street and Pioneers Boulevard will be closed for railroad track repair.

The maintenance is scheduled to be completed by 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Pioneer Boulevard between Highway 2 and South 9th Street will be closed.

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities suggest travelers take Highway 2 to South 14th Street to Old Cheney Road to South First Street as a detour.

South 84th Street will be closed between Highway 2 and Yankee Hill Road.  The department suggests drivers take Highway 2 to South 14th Street as a detour.

Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around work zones. Project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
