Two Huskers selected in MLB draft

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Ty Horn and Carson Jasa, two Husker baseball players, were picked in the third round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft on Saturday, July 11.
Horn, a junior, was selected by the Cincinnati Reds as the No. 94 overall draft pick. He became the seventh pitcher under head coach Will Bolt to be drafted in the first 10 rounds. Horn is the fifth Husker to be selected by the Reds.
Jasa, a redshirt sophomore, was drafted by the Chicago Cubs as the No. 98 overall draft pick. He is a right-hand pitcher with many accolades including All-Big Ten honors and the fifth most punchouts in Husker history. Jasa is the eighth Husker pitcher under Bolt to be drafted in the first 10 rounds, right after Horn.
