Two injured after garbage truck and car collide in southeast Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Police say two people were taken to the hospital early Friday morning after a crash in southeast Lincoln.

LPD said it happened around 5:45 a.m. near S. 56th and Stockwell Streets. Police said a car and a garbage truck collided.

The driver of the car and a 1-year-old child were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to a Channel 8 reporter at the scene, the car had major damage to its front-end.

Traffic was closed for about an hour on S. 56th Street, but it is now back open.
