Two teens arrested in killing of 60-year-old Omaha man

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two teenage boys have been taken into custody in the killing of an Omaha man.
The Omaha Police Department said Friday that a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested in the death of 60-year-old Pedro Velasquez.
Early in the morning of Feb. 8, officers were called to the area of 30th and Y streets, where they found Velasquez dead.
The Omaha Police Officers Association said Velasquez never came back from his daily walk with his dogs.
But one of the dogs returned to the house and led Velasquez’s wife to his body.
Police have not named the teens.
The police union said investigators have not determined a motive in the slaying.
The teens “were simply out hunting human beings,” the union said on X.
