Two workers hospitalized after being electrocuted in south Lincoln

A worker is being treated for serious burns after Lincoln Police say wind blew the lift machine he was using into power lines Thursday evening.

It happened at a Honda dealership near 27th and Yankee Hill Road around 5:30 p.m.

LPD says one other worker was transported but suffered only minor injuries.

The accident sparked a fire in some nearby bushes, which was quickly extinguished by Lincoln Fire & Rescue.

Power was knocked out in the area, but Lincoln Electric System had power mostly restored by 6:00 p.m.

Traffic was also blocked off for a time but is moving normally again.
