UNL grad students help gather donations with free sweet corn

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Agronomy and Horticulture department is hosting a free sweet corn giveaway until 5 p.m. outside Keim Hall on East Campus.

Grad students are handing out sweet corn, while also fundraising for the department’s grad student association.

Donations will go to help support students’ professional development.

Alyssa Hall, president of the grad student association, said the hope is to raise a few hundred dollars.

She also said the group has raised a little over $200 in July.

The corn was grown and hand-picked by students in the department at the Havelock Research farm near 84th street.
