UNL releases statistics regarding burglary, stalking and more

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has released its latest crime report, sharing rises and drops in numbers.

The top three crimes that had the biggest jump in numbers from 2023-25 were alcohol violations, stalking and motor vehicle thefts.

In 2023, there were 392 alcohol violations, while in 2025 there was 535. There was nine cases of stalking in 2023 and 40 cases in 2025. For motor vehicle theft, there was 12 cases in 2023 and 28 cases in 2025.

A few crimes on the report showed decreases. There was 12 cases of rape in 2023 while there was 8 in 2025. Burglary dropped by nine cases from 2023-25 going from 13 to four.
