Unsettled weekend and turning much cooler
There is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe storms Friday night. Hail and damaging wind from one or two storms will be possible.
A line will try to form after 7pm and will have the potential for some strong storms. See below for a rough estimate on where.
There is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe storms in far eastern Nebraska into Iowa and Missouri Saturday evening.
Below is what our StormCast weather model is showing for storm location and duration through the day Saturday. Notice the snow potential in NW Nebraska, then the storm potential in eastern Nebraska Saturday evening. One or two of those storms may become severe.
The line (below) from O’Neill to Columbus to Lincoln and Beatrice is the main concern. It will increase in strength as it moves east into Iowa.
A cold front will be pushing through on Saturday. 30s to the northwest and 70s in the southeast!
Much colder temperatures are expected on Sunday with a little rain/snow mix possible early. Then we slowly but surely warm up next week. More precipitation is possible by mid week.
