Authorities have arrested a man in connection to a reported burglary at a home near Holmes Lake.

Lincoln police officers responded to the 3400 block of Neerpark drive where the homeowners gave them a description of the suspect. Officers later found and arrested a man, later identified as 34-year-old Steven Cerveny, who matched the description south of Holmes Lake.

When officers ordered Cerveny to stop, he dropped a backpack containing a crowbar and took off, police said. He was later arrested without incident.

Surveillance video showed Cerveny at the scene, and he was identified by the homeowners as the person who burglarized their home, police said.

The homeowners reported approximately $400 worth of items were stolen from their garage, which was closed but unlocked, according to police.

Cerveny was arrested for felony charges including burglary and possession of burglar’s tools, as well as obstruction of a police officer.
