The winning Powerball numbers for the $500 million jackpot were announced Wednesday.

The Powerball numbers were: 11, 13, 25, 39, 54. The red ball was 19.

Lottery officials say winning tickets were sold in North Carolina, Texas, and Puerto Rico. This is the first Powerball win for Puerto Rico.

Hundreds of people in the capital city have their eye on Wednesday’s $500-million Powerball jackpot.

“Don’t know what I’d do, hope I don’t get a heart attack,” Elaine Serrell of Lincoln, said.

With this being the third largest jackpot in Powerball history, Nebraska Lottery officials wanted to create a lot of energy. So they did that by handing out 500 free tickets at three locations across the state.

Hundreds of people poured into Russ’s Market on South Coddington in Lincoln, hoping to get their hands on one. Some people already knew what they’d spend the money on if they won.

“I’d pay off my mortgage,” David Hanau of Firth said.

“Spend it on my babies!” Crystal Duffek of Lincoln added.

“I’d probably share it,” Serrell said.

As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nebraska Lottery sold $785,000 in Powerball sales across the state. That’s usually more than what it sells in a week.

Free tickets were also handed out in Grand Island and Omaha. The winning numbers will air on Channel 8 Eyewitness News at 10.
