Warm and windy for Friday
Another mild day is headed our way for Friday. Most of us will be in the 60s by the afternoon. A few 70s to the south are possible!
It’s going to be a windy day, though. A gusty northwest wind will pick up by late Friday morning. 30 to 40 mph wind gusts will be common by the afternoon.
A Red Flag Warning is in place for most of Nebraska for Friday. It’s dry and it’ll be windy, so fires that start will get out of control quickly.
Also, Flood Watches are in place into Saturday. Ice jams around the Loup, Platte, and Elkhorn rivers are possible into Saturday.
After a warm and windy Friday, we cool off for Saturday, then warm back up some for Sunday into next week. Rain becomes possible late Sunday, then again late Monday into Tuesday, lingering into early Wednesday.
Temperatures remain at or above average for the next 10 days.
