Warm and windy Wednesday
Wednesday is going to be a warmer than average day (mid 30s is average), but it is going to be windy, as well. A Wind Advisory is in place for this potential for much of eastern Nebraska.
The wind will be blowing out of the southwest for southern Nebraska and out of the northwest for northern Nebraska. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph will be likely for many.
While it will be windy, it will also be warmer than average for the southern half of the state. A lot of middle 40s are expected.
After the wind and warmer temperatures on Wednesday, our attention turns to Thursday night into Friday and the weekend. It’s going to get very cold. So cold, that we are already seeing some cold weather alerts put in place for bitterly cold wind chills.
Light snow is also possible Friday afternoon through Saturday. It would be a light and fluffy snow. After that, it’ll take a while to warm back up after this weekend.
