Warm Friday, MUCH cooler by the weekend
We are starting to get into the time of year that high temperatures can swing wildly from one day to the next. In fact, that’s what is going to happen the over the next several days!
Temperatures on Thursday got into the lower and middle 90s. Friday, we’ll see highs mainly in the lower and middle 80s. By Saturday, we may not get out of the 60s for highs! We continue to stay cool on Sunday with highs in the 70s, but the 80s come back for much of next week.
Friday is going to be a transition kind of day. High temperatures will depend on the speed of a cold front, too. Right now, the dividing line looks to be from Omaha to Lincoln to Hebron. Everybody north of there will be cooler, everybody south of there will be warmer! After the cold front, showers and storms will spread east and south with most of the rain in southeast Nebraska falling very early Saturday, continuing into the day, and last into the evening.
Much of the eastern half of the state has a good chance at seeing some significant rainfall over the course of a 24-36 hour time frame, through Saturday night.
