Warm start to the week before arctic blast cools us down again 1/3/2022

Many of you are waking up to wind chill values in the single digits and below zero across southeast NE. Make sure to bundle up before you head out the door and allow some extra time to heat up your car this morning. While we are off to a cold start, later today will actually be pretty pleasant for early January. Highs will warm above average into the low 40s with mostly sunny skies. Overnight low temperatures remain mild as well, with most of the area only dropping to the low 20s tonight. We remain above average through tomorrow with highs in the low 40s again, but a cold front cools us down late tomorrow evening. Temperatures will drop into the end of the week with highs in the teens and wind chill values below zero. There’s also a chance for some snow showers Wednesday afternoon and evening.
