Watch your email, UNL notifications for random COVID tests begin tomorrow

Huskers will have one week to get tested once they are chosen
Unl Tests

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will start random mitigation COVID-19 testing on Jan. 30, with the first notification emails going out tomorrow.

All Husker staff, faculty, and students were tested at the beginning of the semester, and students who live on campus are doing a second round of testing this week.  These tests are helping the university track the spread of omicron in the community, and it gives them more information when deciding on future protocols.

This will affect all students, staff, and faculty who have a presence on campus.  If you are chosen, you will get an email on your Husker account the week before your test is due.

You must get tested if you receive an email, regardless of vaccination status.  You can make an appointment through the Safer Community App, COVID-19 Testing Portal, or drop in at a testing site.

Testing sites are available on UNL’s City and East Campuses, which remain open to Huskers who need to get tested after being exposed to someone with COVID-19.  Updates on UNL’s policies regarding COVID-19 are available here.
