LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman accused of intentionally hitting and killing two men with her car pleaded not guilty this week.

In a written arraignment Monday, 28-year-old Taylor Bradley entered a plea of not guilty.

The defense plans to argue that Bradley was not responsible for the deaths “by reason of insanity,” according to a court document.

Bradley is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of using a weapon to commit a felony.

On March 27, Bradley was arrested after the Lincoln Police Department said she ran over two maintenance workers at an apartment complex near 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway.

The workers – Ronald Gonzales-Ribas and Christopher Karmazin – were pronounced dead at the scene.

In April, a judge found that Bradley was “not mentally competent” to stand trial.

But on Sept. 1, Lancaster County Judge Thomas Zimmerman ruled that Bradley was mentally competent.

Bradley’s next court hearing is set for Oct. 25.
